A young tanuki with just as much bite as bark, Momotaro aspires to be like the hero he shares his name with and is a well-practiced swordsman. He’s actually pretty regimented with his training routine and is often seen jogging in the morning whether it be rain or shine.

Momotaro trained his manner of speech to be “more proper” when in actuality he’s quite casual. However, in such a small town like Toffee Town, he finds it difficult to care and may even come off as rude more often than not. His bantering may even be considered vulgar since he’s used to travelling with peers from rough backgrounds.

Though brave, he’s almost mindlessly so as he’s more prone to act on reflex rather than thinking things over first. This often means interfering in situations that doesn’t involve him and pushing what he believes to be right. He believes he makes few mistakes so he doesn't apologize often.

As one so attached to legends and stories, he can’t help but to pick up the occasional romantic novel here and there. He’s embarrassed to admit that he writes love verses and stories in his free time.

Though he was born with a cute face, he often scared off others through rumors of him fighting like an animal. More recently, he dresses the way he does and purposely acts more cute in order to garner attention and be more approachable, especially towards potential love interests. Though, even that tends to backfire since he would attract straight men who are interested in girls. He’s torn in between wanting to be swept off his feet and wanting to have the image of the “great demon slayer” he believes he’s meant to be.

   HISTORY

Momotaro’s name comes from the fact peach trees were in full bloom at the time of his birth. His family comes from a humble, Eastern village where they primarily grow soybeans and export soy related goods such as tofu and milk. Though, there’s nothing wrong with such a life he always wanted more. At the first opportunity he apprenticed under a local swordsman before taking the proper coming-of-age ceremony in defeating his first monster at 13.

With a goal to see the world and to have his name known, Momotaro travels as a hunter and sends money home to his family in order to support them. Any money outside of the village is good money so they have no complaints of him “going off to be a hero” so long as he’s being productive.

However, it was only a matter of time before he reached a rut where he ventured from town to town without his services being needed. Just by chance, he heard of a nearby place called Toffee Town that guaranteed a place to work upon arrival. Not only that, but the trip to town was covered as well. As someone who didn’t want to go home just because he was hitting a rough spot, Toffee Town was his last chance to get his bearings. With nothing to lose, he set on the next ferry towards his destination.

   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

▷His dark under eye markings are natural, but he paints his face with red marks in order to leave an impression. Also eyeliner.

▷ Has problems writing and reading the common language in Toffee Town… But he’s too embarrassed to admit he’s basically illiterate. He’s practicing how to read during his stay so that when he leaves Toffee Town he’d be able to go off bulletin boards and find temporary jobs easier.
