sweats so I finally finished my business card. I've been working on it on and off for a few days and just hrgh FINALLY CAME OUT WITH SOMETHING I'M HAPPY WITH i trust aero to represent me since he's everywhere anyway aha ha ha spams u all with him sorry i guess he's my mascot now sweats
I'LL UPLOAD PICTURES OF THE ACTUAL THING WHEN IT COMES BUT FOR NOW HERE'S MY SWEAT TEARS AND BLOOD ON SCREEN HRGH
I would also recommend that you change the color for "e-mail, deviantart, tumblr" to a brighter one, because when you are going to print it, it will be difficult to read. I know it look nice on the screen, but printer love to destroy all the nice colors you select QAQg I would suggest you take the yellow tint you got for the square, that would offer a great contraste. Otherwise, the contrast won't be shown enough when printed.
Also don't forget to make print test at the printer place you will go to order them, to approve it before making 1000 copies! (or so I read in one of your comment?) If you see the color arent coming out great, it will have costed a lot... And be careful with the lineless edge
If you ever get questions about making professional cards, I will be very happy to help you!
Thank you for your advice! I'm very happy to hear your feedback to think about and to even use this as a reference. You're incredibly polite and constructive and I wish more people were like you. (: Thanks again and I'll definitely look back on this comment more than once to review it. <33
But eeehh if you want more advices i'll give you quick tricks to avoid the mistakes I did (and learned with the blood of my wallet -sob-) First, be ready to print more than once. Never has my cards worked on the first time. I said to do print test at the place you will print them because inks/colors will change depending of the printer and even depending of the day (refill ink and such) you don't want mismatched colors on your pile of cards. It will look weird. (because the colors will be differents even if you have the exact same colors on your files. Printers are jerks.)
Printing compagnies will probably offer you some prices on it. Especially if its over 1000, they are going to use a machine. I suggest you ask them to cut them themselves, unless you are very perfectionnist. Then you can do it yourself with an x-acto and a cutting surface and a rule. (good luck) Also don't forget to put guiding line. You will love them when it is gotten to the cutting phase. Printing recto verso won't fit perfectly. No matter how good the printer is, there will be a slight distance between both images on the paper. The trick is to extend the background color of one side, and cut on the side that doesn't have an extended background. Then it will look great without a white line ruining your card. (in your case I would suggest extending the brown background where you got your infos (email, da,tumblr) and keep the actual size on the side of the drawing (and use that side to mark your guideline for cutting)
Mmmm for the typo you can usually go between 10pts and 12pts easily for the text. Don't worry, it is quite readable. It always look smaller on screen. Make test with your printer if you doubt (because typography can change size from one to another.)
I would suggest you make the distance between your info/yellow block and the edge a bit bigger so you can pally any distance the printer will do with the recto-verso! (but not too much, just a slight bit, maybe 95% or 90% smaller.)
I'll be glad to help if you got other questions!
(Also, do you have a fb like page?)
