please do not
Invite me to your contests.
Compare drawn characters with other characters.
Ask me to draw you something for free.
Ask me to advertise something for you.
Ask for critiques. (I'm not really in the position for that)
If you fail to follow the above I will hide your comment or ignore you.
Thank you for respecting me by not doing any of the above!
Please don't post or redistribute original works without credit. Never trace, modify, or use without permission.
Can you join my contest?
No, sorry! Also if you invite me from my front page I will automatically hide your comment since I dislike being used for advertisement. Even though I have a disclaimer, I used to explain to people why I dislike it personally and to ask them not to but they'd get extremely offended so it's best to just avoid it all together. LOL
Can you advertise this for me? It's a cause that means a lot to me/an emergency.
Going to sound rather harsh but I really don't want to because I would have to do it for everyone and it's fake on my side and also turns myself into an advertising board. I have done it in the past because I have felt guilty but please, please don't ask me to advertise anything for you especially if it's unrelated to my work. (i.e. help resell this design I purchased from you etc) and even then I don't need to but I choose to.
Can you do this for me for free?
Anything like that above and the following: "Can I request my character?" "Do you want to be an artist for my game, you'll get promotion!" "Why don't you just give this adopt away since you made so much already?" are things I can't afford to do unless I am openly offering to do so on my side through public announcement. The answer will always be no if you bring it up first.
Do you want to art trade?
Sometimes I definitely am opened to it but I don't really have much I'd want but if I do art trade it'd most likely be from mutuals since I can rely on their quality and count on them to finish their part!
A modified acrylic brush on SAI is my universal brush. Opacity of it and the size of the brush varies depending on what I'm working on and what size my canvas is.
Varies but I start out on an A4 canvas at 350 DPI and crop. (2893 x 4092)

How to sell without submitting into groups?
You have to start by submitting into groups in the first place and letting yourself be known. You have to be an active member of the community in the first place. It's not that your art or prices suck, it's just how can they sell if no one knows about it? Also try to cater to the tastes of a target audience without losing your individuality. Remember, I started out in the same place as you.
